David A. Hester M.D.

Dr. Hester was born and raised in Austin, Texas. His love of sports began at an early age, and Dr. Hester played baseball and was the quarterback for Westlake High School. After graduating, Dr. Hester earned his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Tiffani, they moved to Massachusetts to attend Boston University Medical School.

Upon graduation from medical school in 1998, they returned to Texas for his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by a Foot and Ankle Fellowship with the internationally renowned San Antonio Orthopedic Group. In 2004 Dr. Hester started his private orthopedic practice in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and served as Medical Director of Orthopedic Surgery for the Titus Regional Medical Center from 2007 to 2013. In 2013, Dr. Hester along with his wife and three sons moved to Midland to join West Texas Orthopedics. In 2015 Dr. Hester joined Dr. Floyd at Urgent Orthopedic Specialists.

Dr. Hester’s specialties include Total Knee and Ankle Replacements, Foot and Ankle Reconstruction, and Sports Medicine including serving as team physician for Midland Christian and the UTPB basketball team.

When not at the office Dr. Hester enjoys spending time with his family outdoors including hunting and fishing and cheering for his sons at sporting events.

Fun Facts

Dr. Hester has appeared on My Strange Addiction, Season 2 Episode 6 “Extreme Cycling/Taxidermy”. His patient, Tom, was addicted to cycling and had severe hip osteoarthritis that was making it difficult for him to walk. However, Tom chose not to take time off from cycling to have the total hip replacements Dr. Hester recommended.

Dr. Hester also appeared on Trauma: Life in the ER while he was in San Antonio, Texas.
